Can you change a QR code after printing? Yes — here’s how
Updated · 2 min read
First: is your code dynamic or static?
Scan it and look at the address that opens for a moment. If you first see a short link from a QR service (like myqr.fun/r/…) and then your page, it’s dynamic and editable. If it opens your own website address directly, it’s probably static.
How to change a dynamic QR code in myQR
- Log in and open My codes.
- Choose the code and click Edit.
- Paste the new link and save.
That’s it. Every copy already printed — menus, stickers, flyers, packaging — now opens the new link. Your scan history stays on the same code.
Good reasons to change a QR code’s link
- A new menu or new prices.
- A seasonal offer that replaces the old one.
- A typo or broken link discovered after printing.
- Moving from a PDF to a proper web page.
- An event is over — send people to the next one.
- Testing two landing pages to see which converts better.
If your code is static
A static code’s link is drawn into the pattern itself, so there’s nothing to edit. Your options:
- Redirect the old page. If the code points to your own website, ask whoever runs it to redirect that old address to the new page.
- Replace the code. Create a dynamic code and print stickers to cover the old one. From then on, any change is a quick edit.
Things that can’t be changed after printing
The look of the code — colors, logo, frame text and size — is part of the printed image. Only the destination is editable. Design it carefully once; change the link as often as you like.

Questions
Does editing the link change the QR code image?
No. A dynamic code always contains the same short link; only the destination behind it changes.
How often can I change the link?
As often as you like, on every myQR plan.
Will I lose my scan statistics when I change the link?
No. The history stays with the code, so you can compare before and after.

Dynamic vs static QR codes: what’s the difference?
Static QR codes hold your link inside the pattern and can never change. Dynamic QR codes point to a short link you can edit and track. Here is how to choose.
